La Mesa… On Tuesday, January 8, 2008, the La Mesa City Council will be considering a Sidewalk Master Plan. This will take place at a regularly scheduled meeting to be held in the Council Chambers at 4:00 p.m. at 8130 Allison Avenue. The Sidewalk Master Plan will define where the City would like to see sidewalks completed in the future to make the community safer for pedestrians. At present, the City’s standards require sidewalks as part of typical public improvements that are the responsibility of all properties in the City. This Plan will better define where sidewalks need to be completed and some areas where sidewalks may not be required. The Plan was developed after a year long community input process.
The City of La Mesa has completed an initial environmental study for this project. City staff has determined this project does not have the potential to create significant adverse impacts to the environment under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Therefore, a Negative Declaration will be presented to the City Council for adoption. The draft Negative Declaration and initial study may be reviewed or purchased for the cost of reproduction at the Community Development Department at La Mesa City Hall. Any challenges to this determination may be presented in writing prior to, or in oral testimony at, the meeting. All testimony will be considered prior to a final determination being made. Court challenges to the nature of the proposed action may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the meeting described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to, or prior to, the meeting.
If there are any questions about this project please contact Dirk Epperson, Assistant Engineer at 619-667-1152. [Notice of Public Meeting]
